We’re proud to share that GelSana was featured in a segment by Colorado Public Radio, highlighting the science behind CleraFlex and the clinical need it addresses. Reporter Andrea Dukakis spoke with our founder, Dr. Melissa Krebs, about the technology and our mission to bring a better solution to patients living with chronic, hard-to-heal wounds.
The piece covers why existing wound care falls short — most products address one problem at a time, forcing clinicians to layer multiple treatments. CleraFlex is different. It supports wound healing by reducing inflammation, repels bacteria, and helps reduce infection risk, all in a single, easy-to-apply format delivered via precision syringe.
The segment also touches on the patient populations who stand to benefit most — including people with diabetic foot ulcers, pressure injuries, and venous leg ulcers — as well as growing interest from the Department of Defense for burn and battlefield wound applications, where stability under extreme conditions matters.
This recognition from CPR reflects the momentum building around CleraFlex as we approach our commercial launch. It also reflects years of rigorous materials science, clinical thinking, and quality-driven development rooted in Colorado School of Mines.
We’re grateful to Andrea Dukakis and the CPR team for telling our story. And we’re more motivated than ever to get CleraFlex into the hands of the clinicians and patients who need it.
