GelSana Wins Inaugural Mines Venture Fund I Investment

(GOLDEN, CO) – February 19, 2024 – GelSana Therapeutics, a Colorado-based biomaterials company founded by Colorado School of Mines professor Melissa Krebs, has received its first investment from the Mines Venture Fund I. This fund targets startups led by Colorado School of Mines affiliates. GelSana, established in 2020, focuses on advanced wound healing products like Cleragel, a polymer-based gel designed to reduce inflammation in wounds such as diabetic foot ulcers. The investment will support efforts towards FDA registration and market introduction of Cleragel and development of GelSana’s next generation of hydrogel-based products.
